Amey, a leading supplier of consulting and infrastructure support services both in the UK and internationally, is looking for a qualified solicitor to join its legal team. You will have at least 4-6 years' experience and will support the company's operational business and group functions, working closely with senior management.

This role is based in London, although currently working from home in line with government Covid guidance, and you will work closely with the Group Legal team of c.10 lawyers, reporting into one of the Legal Directors.

This is an exciting role, supporting the development and growth of Amey Consulting. The environment is fast paced and challenging, with regular interaction with management and senior stakeholders.

  • To support and advise on a broad variety of high-quality legal work across Amey's business, including transport, facilities management and consulting services responsible for:
  • Providing strategic legal advice and support to the business, developing strong working relationships at all levels;
  • Reviewing, drafting and amending a range of commercial, outsourcing, construction and/or professional services contracts (including standard forms such as NEC and JCT), together with associated collateral warranties and parent company guarantees.
  • Supporting all phases of the business: from tender submission through to contract award, mobilisation and delivery including (i) fixed price, cost reimbursable and target cost contracts and (ii) drafting and negotiating supply chain contracts;
  • Advising on confidentiality agreements, letters of intent, bidding agreements and both contractual and incorporated JVs; and
  • Liaising with external law firms and managing their work and costs.

  • Strong construction/engineering, project or corporate/commercial legal experience.
  • Private practice and in-house experience
  • Experience working within the infrastructure sector or exposure to IP/IT and/or finance work
  • Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in business environment
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
  • Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation
  • Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information
  • Outstanding communication skills
