Our Building and Construction client based in Bedford who have been trading for the last 40 years and are excited to welcome an Accounts Assistant to their finance team. The successful Accounts Assistant will be reporting into the Financial controller and will be responsible for a varied role covering purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and bank reconciliations to name a few. The role will suit someone looking to progress and develop their financial ability.

Description

The key responsibilities for the Accounts Assistant will be:
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices circa 300 a Month
  • Managing critical supplier accounts
  • Raising sales invoices circa 50 a Month
  • Chasing outstanding payments
  • Maintaining data within the company's accounting system
  • Problem solving and looking to improve processes
  • Supplier Ledger reconciliations
  • Monitoring of direct debits and leases
  • Reconciling of credit card statements
  • Approving new suppliers
  • Supporting the Management Accountant and Financial Controller with their duties

Profile

The Accounts Assistant will:
  • Have ideally studied of be studying AAT
  • Have experience of a minimum of 2 years in either sales or purchase ledger
  • Be at an intermediate standard using MS Office and Excel
  • Have experience using Sage 200 - but not essential
  • Be comfortable working accurately to multiple deadlines
  • Have excellent communications skill and will be comfortable speaking at all seniority levels.
  • Be a great relationship builder
  • Be a true self starter
  • Be able to work on their own or as part of a team
  • Be someone looking to constantly improved and not afraid to ask questions
