Your new company
An early-stage biotech business based in Oxford is growing its finance team as the company plans to rapidly scale over the coming years. This role will be a no2 to CFO and take ownership of management reporting, business analysis and financial controls.
Your new role
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for producing the consolidated management reporting from start-to-finish, which will include KPI's, cashflow analysis, variance and P&L analysis, alongside insightful commentary. You will also be required to lead the annual budgeting process and produce board presentations with key business performance metrics and dashboards. In addition, you will have need to work closely with the external accountants, investors, external advisors, banks, as well as insurance brokers. Ensuring the integrity of financial information and date, whilst also looking to continuously improve the system and process protocols, will also be key to your success
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will be a fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or QBE Accountant with extensive experience in hands-on commercial reporting and financial controls. Furthermore, you will need to be a self-starter that can carry out the role with minimal supervision, with initiative and ambition to contribute to the growth of the business. To do this, you will need to demonstrate collaboration, willingness to operate at various levels across the business, be comfortable working to tight deadlines, whilst also proving your skills converting accounting data to key business intelligence. Previous experience working in early-stage biotech would be advantageous, but not essential.
