Macildowie are actively seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to work for a great business based in Kirkby in Ashfield.

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5pm.

This company are very flexible in start / finish times and open to a hybrid work pattern - working remotely / from the office.

Salary is based between £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience.

You will be joining a brilliant team, reporting directly into the Head of Finance.

This is a very varied role, will be involved in all transactional duties including Purchase ledger and sales ledger and credit control. Will also have exposure to month / year end, accruals and prepayments and VAT.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and have experience using Sage 200 / similar system previously.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and reports
  • Assist with preparation of the Year End accounts.
  • Assist with the upkeep of Sales and Purchase Ledgers including dealing with Customers/Suppliers and handling queries in a timely fashion.
  • Assist in the sales invoicing process including credit control and debt collection.
  • Assist in the record keeping and accounting of related parties
  • Submission of VAT returns

Skills required:
  • Experienced accounts all-rounder.
  • The post will involve a degree of data input and verification therefore; attention to details is a prerequisite.
  • An excellent standard of computer literacy is essential for this role.
  • The successful candidate will have a wide range of experience in administrative procedures and ideally must have used SAGE 200 in a previous role.
  • The candidate should be a hard-working individual, with a flexible approach demonstrating willingness to lend a hand to ensure the job is done; whatever the task may be.
  • Although largely working internally, a professional attitude and excellent telephone manner are needed.
  • Reliability and the capacity to work with a variety of people are also sought.
  • Additionally, a willing attitude and the ability to work under pressure with high levels of integrity and be able to exercise total discretion and confidentiality due to the nature of the work and data being viewed are essential attributes.
