Legal Secretary - Residential ConveyancingLocation: Basingstoke

My client, a leading law firm, are recruiting for a Legal Secretary / Assistant to join their Residential Conveyancing team in the Basingstoke office. To be considered for this role you will need to have experience working in Conveyancing / Property Law as a Legal Secretary or similar.

Duties will include:
  • File opening and closing;
  • Drafting engagement letters
  • Amending documents from manuscript and copy typing of documents
  • Dictation - correspondence and emails
  • Diary management
  • Liaising with clients and other third parties
  • Preparing bills, management of payments, receipts and transfers, dealing with arising queries and issues
  • Preparing completion statements using Excel
  • Making and managing Land Registry applications
  • Making and managing online SDLT returns

The successful candidate will have:
  • Previous experience of working as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant in a residential conveyancing / property team
  • fast, accurate typing skills
  • the ability to follow procedural and legal protocol
  • a methodical approach and good time management
  • excellent IT skills
  • good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • positivity and adaptability
  • a high standard of written and spoken English
  • the ability to work independently and use initiative
