£25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience

Our client is an established, successful media agency. They are a fun and lively team.

As Finance Assistant you will be responsible for client billing, sales ledger and treasury aspects of the business. You will be the number 2 to the Finance Director so there is great scope for development here. You will maintain transparency and accountability for all transactions. With access to both internal and external key stakeholders, the role requires someone with integrity, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines whilst always maintaining confidentiality.

Finance Assistant Responsibilities:

Sales Ledger
  • Liaise with payables team member with regards funds received and payment runs
  • Credit control - chasing unpaid invoices and resolve any Client's queries, liaise with AMs.
  • Reconcile monthly media spend against revenue
  • Raise, liaise with AM's and send all client billing at specified dates throughout the month.

Treasury
  • Petty cash.
  • Allocating cash transaction daily - multi-currency accounts (GBP, EUR, USD, SGD, AUD)
  • Preparing cash flow forecasts.
  • Checking and authorising payment runs prepared by payables team member.
  • Raise payments onto online banking when requested for authorisation by FC/CFO.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and maintain company records.
  • Investigating unallocated amounts received and payments on hold.
  • Preparing cash flow forecasts.

  • Credit card reconciliations

Other Tasks
  • Assist with payables function when required.
  • Raising GL journals
  • Reports - client analysis, profitability.
  • Assist with month end journals.
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with VAT return.
  • Be part of the project review process re: banking and accounting software.
  • Support FC/CFO when required.

Preferred Skills / Experience for the Finance Assistant
  • Proven experience using online banking.
  • Proven experience in raising multiple client invoices within tight deadlines.
  • AAT part qualified an advantage or proven QBE
  • Excel - intermediate level
  • Ability to take on ownership and responsibility for the revenue function.
  • Adaptable, pro-active and willingness to assist team members when necessary.
  • An experienced XERO user
  • A proactive, self-starter who is bright and able
