A leading care provider is seeking a Deputy Manager for a Residential service in Warrington. The service provides care for adults 18+ with Learning Disabilities. They require a Deputy Manager who will support Registered Manager to meet the challenging demands of the service users and motivate the staff to maintain the quality of care.

The residential service we provide is to support a maximum of 8 adults between the ages of 18-65 with learning difficulties, behaviour that challenges and or mental health to achieve independence, provide personalised care, promote empowerment and inclusion, transition individuals with achieving their individualised goals, outcomes, achievements or choices, achieving capacity and lifting restrictions.

Key Responsibilities of a Deputy Manager:

  • To line manage SRSWs, ensuring they are all performing to the highest standard, in line with their role descriptions.
  • To lead the team and run the home well while they are on duty. Taking responsibility for decision making in the Registered Manager's absence.
  • To be a role model, coach and a mentor to all staff members.
  • To demonstrate effective organisation skills, ensuring that adequate plans are in place in the home, keeping the staff team informed and motivated.
  • To maintain good communication both within the home and with appropriate external agencies.
  • Ensuring all relevant information required for the running of the home, and the care provided, is effectively communicated, documented and relevant people are kept in the picture.
Deputy Manager Requirements:

  • NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent. Essential
  • Willingness to study for the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health & Social Care
  • Working at a Senior Support Worker level, as a minimum, within the Care sector
  • A minimum of two years' operational experience in a health and social care setting
  • Caring for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism
  • Mentoring a team to achieve their goal
  • Meeting the legal responsibilities of the service and home
