Finance Process & Excel Developer

The client is recruiting for a Finance Process and Excel Developer to improve and remediate impacted accounting and actuarial finance processes ahead of IFRS 17 implementation.

This interesting role involves problem solving and increasing efficiencies. The candidate should be conversant in finance, technology, designing new processes and challenging the use of spreadsheets. You will learn about IFRS17, which will equip you with valuable change experience for future opportunities. You will be setting up EUC (End User Computing) development / design, UAT, building/testing, mapping out new processes and developing a structure around those new approaches with the end-user in mind.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying and implementing remediation required for impacted EUCs ahead of IFRS 17 implementation.
  • Working with end users in the user acceptance testing of changes made.
  • Supporting the documentation of the revised processes and associated governance.
  • Providing first line of support for end users queries and taking part in working groups etc.
  • Bringing best practice on finance process design to maximise end to end benefits
  • Summarising, impact assessing and escalating key risk and issues and driving solutions to their resolution
  • Communicating out and making end users aware of changes to the processes.

Ideally, you will possess the following experience:
  • Experience of managing accounting / actuarial systems, life insurance experience is desired.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplined project teams in a large business (ideally in Insurance / Banking or similar)
  • Management of data relationships, definitions, and the resolution of data integrity issues.
  • Building reports visualising financial data for a variety of stakeholders, using a variety of data sources.
  • Supporting the setup of new business processes and embedding them into Business as Usual teams.
  • Experience of systems implementations an advantage.
  • Finance system experience - Oracle Fusion, SAP R3, SAP Business Financial Controller, Tableau, Wdesk/Wdata is desired, however, training will be provided if other systems have been used.
  • Project Management and/or Continuous improvement experience i.e. Lean.
  • Customer services and/or help desk experience.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely document EUC and process developments.
  • Ability to produce training material and deliver quality training and upskilling for a range of end users.
  • Learning quickly and ability to react to a changing environment.
