Domus have a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced Registered Manager within the Health and Social Care sector to join a national disability charity, based in Leatherhead, Surrey.

As the Registered Manager you, will be take CQC responsibility for a care and rehabilitation service that helps people regain their quality of life following an Acquired Brain Injury, Stroke, incomplete Spinal Injury or Neurological Illnesses.

You will work closely with the NHS, personal injury case managers and local authorities, providing neuro rehabilitation for adults with physical, cognitive and/or communication disabilities which may also include mild to moderate behavioural problems.

Expert multi-disciplinary teams of specialist therapists, nurses and support workers provide each person with a personalised neuro rehabilitation plan and 24-hour nursing care.

You will work closely with families and everyone involved with an individual's long-term rehabilitation, helping them with the transition out of our service, whether that be home or on to supported living.

We are looking for a highly experienced Registered Manager, preferably an Allied Healthcare professional with nursing experience, with the ability to manage and lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities of a Registered Manager:

  • Ensure that the service continues to meet all legislative and organisational standards and good practice guidance through operational knowledge and effective quality management.
  • Solve problems that may be complex in nature including adult protection and staffing issues as well as providing action plans to resolve any issues raised through external and internal inspections.
  • Lead, direct, supervise and support staff working within the service to ensure high levels of engagement.
  • Lead and communicate in such a way as to ensure an open and honest culture where staff feel engaged and empowered.
  • Provide specialist advice to staff to enable all client queries, complaints and advocacy matters are dealt with to ensure that effective service performance and quality are maintained.
  • Manage and monitor the operational budget in order to keep within the agreed budget limits on expenditure and to manage resources to obtain best value for money whilst maintaining quality and safety as a first priority.
  • Promote the service in line with marketing plans including undertaking visits and assessments with prospective new clients, attending external events and liaison with funding bodies and other external professionals.
  • Develop, train and motivate staff through leading by example, promoting team work, developing and maintaining a learning culture to ensure high levels of performance.
  • Ensure the building, environment and equipment is maintained to a safe standard through regular review with the Facilities co-ordinator.
  • Provide on call cover as required.
Key requirements a Registered Manager must have:

  • Experience of managing residential services for adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Physical Disabilities.
  • NVQ Level 5 or equivalent qualification.
  • Preferably a valid and in-date nursing pin (RMN/RGN).
  • Effective communication, leadership and coaching skills are important as you will be responsible for managing Case Workers, Therapists, Nurses, a Deputy Manager and team of Support Workers, as well as communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Committed to person centered planning and positive risk taking with a real passion for improvement and continuous development.
  • A driver with a full license.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of CQC, Health and Safety and Local Authority requirements.
  • Effective communication.
