We are currently recruiting for a Global Tax Compliance Specialist to start immediately for a 1 year temporary position. The position is hybrid working 3 day in the office based in London the other 2 from home (could be flexible). Hours 40 per week. Day rate of £211 - £230. Would take someone if on notice.
  • Closely engage with the appropriate tax experts to ensure compliance with Country specific requirements
  • Build expertise in all Tax sensitive countries where Marine has substantial business
  • Facilitate the Global Tax Governance Meeting with Tax, Legal, Supply Chain and Marine Sales to stay abreast of any changes in requirements related to VAT or other taxes
  • Actively participate and drives Global Tax Centre of Expertise
  • Responsible for the timely set-up & filing of VAT & intrastat returns for the Global business.
  • Balance Sheet reconciliation. Setting up new VAT &/or intrastat returns as & when required involving working with the tax teams.
  • Coordinate responses to tax audits & lead the data gathering
  • Along with Tax, manage external VAT service providers, including bringing work in house where possible or looking for lower cost alternatives
  • Be the liaison between the business and the tax groups for any new business opportunity outside the regular international marine business

  • Strong Process Improvement Skills
  • Excellent Time management skills and Project management skills
  • Ability to communicate finance matters to senior level in the organisation
  • Teamwork/Interpersonal - ability to interact with a broad range of stakeholders and work collaboratively in a team environment. Able to work with internal and external SME's in Tax and Legal and represents in this fluently the business aspects
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak times and working with different time zones
