SME - Finance Manager - 12 Months' FTC
Up to £35,000

On The Wirral // Hybrid working

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Finance Manager will provide finance support to my client who is experiencing rapid growth, including the provision of monthly management accounts and other business critical financial information. The role also requires support to the company in understanding and monitoring all current manufacturing activities.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
  • Managing the work of the ledger clerk ensuring book-keeping for all transactions including sales, purchases, VAT, payroll and cash, including preparing and sending out customer invoices is up to date
  • Completion of monthly management accounts for review by Finance Director
  • Provision of further information required to enable the board to understand the monthly management accounts
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and the Finance Director to understand the financial impact of current manufacturing activities by ensuring all Financial Control spreadsheets are kept up to date
  • Manage Cash collection and credit control
  • Provide financial KPIs and daily/weekly/monthly dashboard metrics as required
  • Manage expense processing and payments
  • Ensure that payroll adjustments are administered accurately and in a timely fashion (e.g. promotion, leaver, sickness, holiday, maternity/paternity leave, etc)
  • Support the Finance Director in managing relationships with the banks and other funders
  • Provide information to external accountants and tax advisors in relation to the statutory accounts process and year-end tax support
  • Prepare accurate management reports to external stakeholders


Experience Required:
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines
  • Completed or working towards accounting qualifications relevant to the role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work confidently and on own initiative
  • Ability to keep information confidential were appropriate
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to concentrate on detail and quality of work
  • Experience of working in a fast paced office environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office, including outlook and excel.
