We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic project manager to undertake project management and leadership to some of our strategic digital and heritage data management projects, that make up the Systems Improvement Portfolio (SIP).
The Key purpose of the role;
The key purpose of this post is to provide solid project management and to understand and apply comprehensive PMO principles, with proven project management methodologies, to support identified business change initiatives and projects. Such methodologies will include "PRINCE2 Agile", and "Scrum".
This role is set within the Business-led systems team; as part of the Business Improvement Group.
What you will do;
The jobholder will be responsible for working in close collaboration between our IMT department, Digital engagement and other areas of the business, building effective business relationships.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1.Undertake Project Management activities for some of our strategic digital and heritage data management projects and activities, for the Business-led Systems programme and projects (which reside within the SIP). Assist business areas with the production of the business case and programme design; translate the overall vision of the project into delivery; manage the delivery and eventual closedown and/or renewal of the project; lead benefits realisation activities and be accountable for ensuring progress towards project objectives.
2.Responsible for developing and implementing Project Management plans, and monitoring and controlling scope, schedule, finance, risk and resources.
3.Responsible for managing smaller elements of budgets identified, ensuring they are compliant with public sector expenditure, whilst reporting on budgets to SIP Programme Manager. Undertake procurement activities as required.
4.Manage interdependencies and, where appropriate, ensure consistency between strands of the projects managed.
5.Manage a high standard of business relationships with all levels of staff including Sponsors, Senior Responsible Owners, Business Change Managers, Senior Users, in some cases with external partners and providers across the Programme.
6.Maintain regular reporting to SIP Programme Manager, senior management, key stakeholders and SIP.
7.Invoke a good standard of Internal Customer relationships, developing and maintaining a sound understanding of HE business practices, requirements and strategies ensuring alignment within the projects identified where appropriate.
8.Apply best practice in Supplier Management and Contract Management, whilst important coordination across multiple collaborating organisations, partners and third parties; being flexible around different organisational cultures.
9.Develop and maintain a good working relationship with other Project and Programme Managers, establishing project priorities with Project Leads, SRO and stakeholders.
10.Adhere to and follow the SIP framework and PMO standards, whilst feeding lessons into other Projects and Programmes to ensure continuous improvement for our Business-led Systems; ensuring added value across the projects managed, identifying areas for improvement and implementing these improvements.
11.Keep up to date with technologies and innovations in the sector and consider their potential use in supporting Historic England business objectives, supporting this activity wherever possible.
12.Undertake any other Project Management tasks as deemed appropriate by line manager.
