REED Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a successful manufacturing business in Belfast and are actively recruiting for a Management Accountant to join the structured team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Part Qualified Accountant keen to take the next step in their career or a Fully Qualified Accountant.

The Role:

Working as part of a structured team, the Management Accountant will manage the production of timely, complete, and accurate management accounts, supported by reconciliations and audible financial records.

More specific duties will include:

Lead the development and management of the financial management information reporting requirements of the business and its subsidiary, ensuring accuracy, consistency, appropriateness and timeless

Manage the Accounts month end close process and Management Accounts preparation each month

Ensure sufficient management of both the sales and purchase ledgers and related cashflow

Ensure appropriate recharges are in place within the company to ensure costs are allocated where it is practicable to do so to achieve valuable understanding of the Company's financial performance

Develop reports that convey complex financial information to non -specialists in clear and easy to understand formats

Develop, implement and manage the annual budgeting process

The main point of contact for department heads, providing support and guidance on budgeting and forecasting

Maximise the abilities of the accounting package

Excellent working knowledge of Sage packages

Act as main contact for banking issues and queries, monitor bank changes and review banking arrangements as necessary

Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently, accurately to achieve monthly and other deadlines

Ensure sufficient resources are available to meet the needs of the business

Support the learning and development of the finance team

Complete HFM/Hyperion monthly templates and uploads for group reporting

Assistance in compliance with Group reporting, policy and procedure

Compilation and distribution of Operating and Financial KPI data internally and at group level

Calculate and journal key monthly accruals, prepayments and other estimated balances

Review of month end stock records/valuation/movements and journal of transactions

Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations

Ensure maintenance of the General ledger and regular review of nominal codes

Capex Management and Fixed Asset Register Control

Oversee the Assistant Accountant in the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance with VAT regulations

The Person:

The ideal person for this role will have 3+ years experience working in a similar role within industry and will ideally have previous manufacturing industry experience. Candidates will have experience working with an ERP system and will have had exposure to Hyperion software.

Candidates will hold a professional qualification or part qualification under CIMA/ ACCA/ACA or equivalent.
