Your new company

Hays are recruiting on behalf of an OFSTED good primary school in Preston (Penwortham) who are seeking a Teacher for their Year 4 class, on a long-term maternity cover basis.

The school has experienced a transformation in recent years; a result of a radical change in leadership. The school is well-known for being one of the best primary schools in Preston. The headteacher and senior management team have been established in their positions for many years now, and they are always supportive and welcoming with new staff. We have placed many teachers here previously, and all have spoken very highly of the school and its leadership team; many of the staff we have placed on a temporary basis now work here permanently.

Your new role

As the schools new Year 4 Teacher, you will take on full-class responsibilities, including planning, preparation, and lesson delivery. The Year 4 class has an experienced Teaching Assistant who will support you in your teaching and lesson prep; this will help you to settle into the school.

This role will be long-term until the end of the academic year on a maternity cover basis. As mentioned previously, this school has previously taken temporary workers on permanent contracts. This role would be ideal for an experienced Teacher, or an NQT looking to complete their ECT induction; the school will sponsor this. Rates of pay will range from £85 per day for an NQT, to £130 for senior teachers.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful applicant will have a passion for education and a clearly defined teaching style; the school values personality highly when considering potential recruits. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential to be considered for this role. Previous in-class experience in the past 4 years is also essential. Placements as part of your Teacher training programme will be considered.

Hays are an exclusive recruitment provider for this school, meaning we oversee all of the schools day-to-day, temporary, and permanent recruitment. We also work with over 50 Primary Schools across Lancashire in a similar capacity. If you would like to be put forward for any of the roles, we have available, you must first register with Hays: upon application, a Hays Education Consultant will be in touch to guide you through this process.

What you'll get in return

As a Hays Teacher, you will receive market leading insight into your local market. We will keep you up-to-date with all suitable opportunities and actively market your CV to our network of partner schools. Additionally, Hays offer all Teachers a generous rate of pay; with pay-day every week!

We also offer exclusive training packages and bonuses. As a Hays Teacher or TA, you will gain access to our refer-a-friend scheme, where you can earn £250 per Teacher you refer to us (uncapped!) after a 20 day qualifying period. We also offer holiday pay and similar benefits to all supply staff.
