An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Service Manager to join the Medical Team at Raigmore Hospital undertaking specific responsibilities to work as a team of 5 Service Managers to manage, lead and motivate the medical and nursing teams across the Emergency Department and the Acute Medical Receiving Unit. The successful post holder will support clinical activity, particularly medical flow, within the Medical Division ensuring that all users receive safe clinical management whilst maintaining a cost effective and efficient service within the agreed resources.

Candidates, who are absolutely committed to enhancing patient care, through the efficient and effective management of clinical services within Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, are encouraged to apply.

The Job Description is generic in terms of breadth; there are specific allocated responsibilities with an exciting work load for identified service areas (at present Emergency Department and Acute Medicine). The post holder will work with the designated Clinical Leads to ensure compliance with Governments Effective Waiting Times Management Framework, have oversight of flow on EDIS, Trakcare and Wardview (an understanding of these systems would be extremely helpful) as well as be responsible for the management of allocated staff and the development of specific projects (primarily linked to unscheduled care).

The post holder will demonstrate excellent people management skills, in particular they will have the ability to foster strong team building and provide motivational support where required.

You will be responsible for supporting the business of the Medical Division including analysis of demand and capacity, waiting time delivery and supporting all aspects of management within a strong framework of financial governance whilst adhering to the qualities laid out in the Highland Quality Approach.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a real commitment to working across all relevant aspects of the service, showing an ability to enthuse, motivate and give commitment to meeting exacting deadlines. Also key is the ability to multi-task in a very demanding environment. Previous experience of working with both clinical and non-clinical teams is essential along with evidence of excellent clinical, analytical, organisational and communication skills. A demonstrable commitment to improving the services we provide to patients is absolutely essential.
