I am urgently seeking an experienced finance officer for a key client of mine within an educational organisation. Your main responsibility will be to look after the Sales Ledger, howvere you will be required to work across a number of functions within the Finance team.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, your duties as a finance officer will be:
  • To be aware of coding structures and budgetary control arrangements.
  • Follow up queries with budget holders and ensure that transaction processing is timely and accurate.
  • Generate sales invoices from invoice requisitions and update sales ledger with cash receipts.
  • Chase outstanding debts and course fees by letter, e-mail and telephone and maintain records of chasing activity.
  • Bank cash and cheques received in Finance and update the Finance system in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Operate the petty cash till for payment claims when required.
  • Along with other members of the Finance team, be responsible for ensuring that all financial activity within the Colleges comply with the Financial Regulations and Procedures.
  • Be aware of the VAT implications of transactions processed.
  • Participate in the internal processes dealing with all forms of communication received by Finance.
  • Work collaboratively within the Finance team and liaise as appropriate with other staff across the Colleges.
  • Carry out reconciliations and analysis as required.
  • Operate the petty cash till for payment claims when required.

This is a temporary role based in Morden (noonsite parking) and they are looking for someone to ideally work 36 hours per week, however they will consider 09.00- 15.00pm for someone with the right experience. This role will run until mid-Feb 2022.
