This position offers the chance to work on large NHS Procurements with a specific IT/Digital focus. The post is predominantly remote working but may require the appointed candidate to go on site on occasion.

Michael Page are proud to be supporting a recently formed NHS healthcare collaborative organisation based in the North West (Manchester) with the recruitment of an IT Procurement Manager.


IT Procurement Manager responsibilities:

To contribute to the development and implementation of purchasing and procurement strategy and project plans across the collaboration
Create and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate with stakeholders of varying seniority
Effective communication with the senior procurement staff within other NHS Trusts, Purchasing Consortiums, and NHS Supply Chain
Ensure the effective monitoring of contract performance
Guarantee appropriate customer input into the procurement decision-making process
Make certain that Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders, EU Regulations and other statutory and regulatory requirements are followed, additionally training of legal obligations to untrained staff in other departments may also be required
Conduct formal high-value tenders in line with Procurement Legislation
Generate a strong knowledge and awareness of the marketplace to give due consideration to financial status of suppliers; ability to supply and maintain continuity of supply
Undertake product and equipment evaluations/trials and site visits as necessary
Conduct detailed evaluation of tender returns, using appropriate financial assessment and purchasing and supply criteria
Ensure products and supplier meet required standards according to English and EU lawProfile

The successful IT Procurement Manager will possess the following:

Extensive experience in IT Procurement within a public sector background - ideally NHS
MCIPS or Qualified by experience
Comprehensive knowledge of EU procurement regulations Job Offer

What is on offer:

6 month interim contract
Paying between £250 - £300 per day
