The Supply Chain Manager works cross-functionally to configure optimal end-to-end value streams for the organisation's materials and external sub contractor services.

Combining an in-depth knowledge of supply chain principles, Total Cost of Ownership and a passion for continuous improvement and collaborative working, the Supply Chain Manager plays a key role to deliver competitive advantage, through the creation and design of world-class supply chains that deliver cost, sustainability, and continuity.

The post will lead the team of Supply Chain specialists in supporting and coaching Purchasing, Supply Chain and other teams within the operations; from raw material source to point of fit and out to the customer. From the outset, you will have a high level of responsibility and be uniquely placed to shape, define and drive the future of all stages of the value stream of commodity groups for the business and our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

> Lead a team of Supply Chain specialists in setting up the optimal supply chain(s) for major commodity groups
> Coaching and supporting the purchasing teams on operational cost analysis and negotiation and ensuring the optimal total supply chain concept is created and sourced considering resilience, lead time and sustainability
> Support the process on new programmes with supply chain analysis that will encompass end to end sustainability roadmap to target, resilience considerations and cost trade off
> Co-lead with Operations the Make or Buy process for a major commodity group and working with the purchasing teams
> Support S&OP
> Work with Supplier Quality and Development teams on Value Stream Analyses to optimise key supplier operations from a cost and supply assurance perspective
> Work with Manufacturing and Supply Chain feasibility assessment for new commodity groups.
> Work on key business-wide strategy projects
> Be a Leader
> Development and creation of Standardised Operating Procedures
> Lead the development of IT systems and CI tools to drive innovation

EXPERIENCE:

> An effective and authentic leader, who actively cares and supports team members whilst driving high standards
> Manages the delivery of complex supply chain solutions in a fast paced, high pressured manufacturing environment
> Experience in supply chain strategy, purchasing, supply chain or manufacturing operations
> Understanding and ability to apply lean methodology in Supply Chain set up
> Be a results-driven manager and leader
> Disciplined in strategic planning and procurement
> Proven leadership with internal partners and suppliers
> Proven capability to maximize the value of partners both internal and external to your operation
> Proven implementation and delivery of purchasing strategies
> A strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders to influence cross-functional alignment
> Experience of working in a global, multi-cultural environment
> Lean / Process Improvement experience

SALARY:

* £62,000 - £65,000 Pension, Holiday, Bonus
Normanton, Leeds, Castleford, Wakefield
West Yorkshire
