About the RolePurpose of the roleThe Senior Technical Operational Risk Manager will report directly into the Head of Operational Risk and will be responsible for organizing and managing the delivery of the Bank's Operational Risk Management Framework.Duties and responsibilities
  • Good understanding of the relevant regulatory requirements relating to Operational Risk
  • Detailed knowledge of operational risk management methodologies and principles
  • Experience in the design and build of operational risk management frameworks - knowing what good looks like, and aligning to business needs
  • Adherence to Operational Risk industry standards such as the Bank of International Settlements - Principles for the Sound Management of Operational Risk.
  • Keeping up to date with industry specific issues and circumstances and the impact of financial services regulation
  • Good understanding of operational resilience regulatory requirements
  • Involvement in the Operational Risk capital processes and approach used in calculating the ICAAP requirements
  • Supporting the Operational Risk department in the discharge of its duties and provide continuous guidance to line management and the Groups' individual business functions with the identification, measurement, monitoring and effective management of operational risk
  • Assisting in the ongoing embedding and continual enhancement of all aspects of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF)
  • Providing continuous oversight and challenge in respect of operational risk events to ensure information is accurately documented, appropriate actions have been considered and that supporting evidence is verified ahead of an event being closed
  • Helping to embed operational risk awareness across the Group's first line through active stakeholder management, engagement and technical support
  • Undertaking control oversight activities in respect of management systems and other first line operated controls and testing
  • Reviewing and appropriately challenging sources of management information to ensure timely and accurate reporting to relevant internal committees
  • Co-ordinate operational risk input to risk committees on the Group's risk profile, control infrastructure, control weaknesses and remedial action plans
  • Knowledge share and training relating to technical skills

Qualifications and experienceYou must have a minimum of 5 years operational risk experience at a management level within financial services, having been involved in the rollout or embedding of a new framework.Working Hours37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (one hour for lunch).We promote flexibility around how and where we work so that you can achieve a healthier work-life balance.
