Grafton Banks Finance are currently working with a large global commercial company with offices near Crawley, West Sussex to recruit a Finance Analyst on a full time permanent basis. Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance and Treasury you will work within a large team to support and ad value to the commercial drive of the business with the production of both the Budgeting and forecasting.

On a day to day basis your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Compilation and analysis of liquidity and interest rate risks both at an entity and consolidated level. Production of intuitive forecasting and estimation
  • Understanding of models used to assess risk within the business. Knowledge of balance sheet and how interest rates can impact assets and liabilities. Ability to recognise these patterns and report appropriately to management.
  • Understanding of market movements and regulatory issues with the ability to update management as and when needed. Liaise with business areas on products and business trends. Understanding market rates and their impact on the business.
  • Understanding of market value of equity and net interest income impact within the business' balance sheet. Their key drivers and influence on other parts of the business/finance.
  • Production of metrics used for management purposes, ensuring all models are accurate and adhere to local policies.
  • Cross-train into the Treasury Analyst role. Being able to competently carry out daily cashflow forecasts and close Treasury. Effectively cover the Treasury Analyst role on any holidays or as and when required.
  • Completion of reports on a daily/monthly basis. Ensuring all reports are accurate, and when required, are updated accordingly. The creation of new reports, with the help of IT teams, to complete any outstanding reporting requirements.
  • Monitor the sensitivity and risk limits in alignment with the business Risk Appetite, ensuring governance process is adhered to and any major fluctuations are reported and analysed. Work towards reducing risks and hedging the business against impactful fluctuations. Monitor and escalate where appropriate.
  • Work alongside department manager to deal with any ad-hoc governance or procedural changes which arise. Accurately and efficiently implement changes as and when needed; liaising with key stakeholders to ensure best practice. This also applies to Audit requirements.

The successful candidate will be either a Finance Graduate with practical work experience ( placement year) who is actively looking to further develop to become a qualified accountant. Or studying towards ACCA,ACA,CIMA. You will need to have strong MS office experience, including Excel. Be a good team player and be able to work sole charge to gather results and findings reporting to Management level. This is commercial Analyst position working hybrid in office and from home.
