Finance Project Officer - 3 Months - £34,900

Your new company
The main purpose of this role is to prepare budget templates, input of data and calculating of annual budget including rent and service charges for a Housing Association based in South Wales, within the specified timelines for approval by Board.

Your new role
This will be a temporary role starting in mid November for 3 months with potential for extension. You will be reporting to the Finance Manager. Your main responsibilities will include preparing the Service Charge calculations within specified timelines. This will include collating service charge cost data from colleagues for each service chargeable housing scheme and setting up of spreadsheets in MS Excel. You will also be responsible for presenting the finalised service charge calculations for input to 2022/23 budget. Your other key responsibility will be preparing the calculations of the annual revenue and capital budgets within specified timelines, for review by Star Chamber (Budget Scrutiny Panel) in January 2022. This entails setting up budget templates in MS Excel in a consistent format for each individual budget holder, which will provide them with a pro forma to populate budget proposals and expected phasing of income/spend for the 2022/23 financial year. You will also be distributing the budget templates to the individual budget holders and set specified timelines for return of budget proposals, offering support where required.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant, or qualified by experience, with previous experience of dealing with budgets and services charges. You will have excellent Excel spreadsheet skills and good knowledge of Microsoft products and have used Office 365. It is desirable to have experience and knowledge of the social housing sector or project management experience, but not essential.
