As one of a team of staff in the Admissions Office, the postholder is involved in the processing of applications to qualifications offered by the University of London. They will have specific responsibility for processing applications to a range of postgraduate degrees and diplomas. And they will also be responsible for processing undergraduate accreditation of prior learning requests.

Description

To assess the eligibility of applicants for admission to a range of undergraduate/postgraduate degrees/diplomas offered by the International Programmes, based on the specific entrance requirements of the qualifications.

2. To prepare papers relating to 'non-automatic' applications for referral to the Head of the Student Admissions Department or relevant Programme Director as appropriate for consideration and decision.

3. To prepare letters to applicants to advise of the outcome of applications, including offer letters.

4. To request, acknowledge and verify the statutory, academic and other documentation submitted in support of applications, including the applicant's curriculum vitae and references where required.

5. To liaise with the Member Institute/Programme Director regarding progress of individual applications.

6. To process discretionary accreditation of prior learning (APL) requests

7. Regularly to 'chase' outstanding documentation for applicants and registered students.

8. To ensure that all applicants who are given an offer of registration to the undergraduate/postgraduate programmes satisfy the University's entrance requirements.

9. To ensure that any advice given to the applicant is complete, relevant to their needs and in accordance with the Regulations for the programme concerned.

10. To deal with a wide range of often complex correspondence through a variety of platforms including SID, Livechat and telephone. Providing advice or assistance on a variety of matters relating to the work for which the postholder is responsible and ensure that clear and concise replies are given to enquirers, applicants, students, other members of staff (both within UOL generally, including Programme Directors from the Member Institutes), other academic institutions, and examination boards.

11. Attending the APPR meetings as and when required and ensuring relevant statistics are provided at the APPR's.

12. To actively follow and promote the University of London policies, including the University's Dignity at Work and Equal Opportunities Policy and actively promote these wherever possible.

13. To maintain an awareness and observation of fire and health and safety regulations

14. To assist with the support of webinars and conversion activity

15. Any other duties consistent with both the grade and scope of the post 16. Any other duties reasonably required of the postholder by the reporting manager.
