My client is looking to recruit a Toolroom Manager to join their manufacturing company based in Wiltshire. The company manufacture precision parts, primarily serving the automotive, aerospace and power generation industries supplying a worldwide customer base.
The company has three sites within the South West of England, one in Bath and two in Devizes and this position will be located within the Automotive division based in Devizes.
Within the role of Toolroom Manager, you will be responsible for a small team of skilled machinists, including apprentices producing tooling and components used in the production of our client's products.
The toolroom supports production and new process introduction across the site, and the main duties within the role will be:
Manage / schedule the production of tooling/components, including assembly as requested by production, maintenance, technical office and R&D, to achieve maximum impact on company objectives and goals.
Manage and react to changes in priorities using PCR's to support various business functions including production departments and technical projects.
Providing practical support to project teams to develop and improve production processes as part of the project teams process.
Attending and contributing within the daily production meetings to ensure the toolroom supports key functions.
Develop the skills within the toolroom to ensure it can deal with any new or established processes that the toolroom support.The successful candidate will have ideally served a recognised apprenticeship in Toolmaking or have experience within a similar role managing a team, and a good knowledge of manual and CNC machining including milling, turning, EDM, grinding and Toolmaking.
