LOCATION - Somerset + additional sites
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- Circa £45000 - £55000 per annum dependent on experience
My client is looking for an Operations Manager to join their business on a permanent basis for their site in Somerset with regular travel to the Midlands and Berkshire. The role will involve being responsible for the health and safety, manufacturing and maintenance of the engineering departments as well as leading the team of engineers.

The Operations Manager will ideally have the following:
- Engineering background - preferably Engineering / Management degree
- Previous experience working as an Operations / Manufacturing manager within a FMCG or Food environment.
- Strategic and methodical mindset
- Extensive knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Motivational - have the ability to empower employees
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
The Operations Manager role will involve:
- Ensuring Health and Safety regulations are always followed
- Setting KPIs and motivating employees to meet these
- Mentoring employees
- Drive an attitude of continuous improvement activities within the business
- Taking a "hands on" approach within business and manufacturing issues
- Delivering engineering and continuous improvement projects
