Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a renowned organisation to assist with their search for a Head of Finance. This is a temp to perm role which offers hybrid working hours to a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) with previous team management experience.

The role will suit someone who is excited by the idea of working in a fast-changing environment and having a hands-on approach to supporting and maintaining good internal controls and being able and willing to implement process improvements.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Liaison with the external auditors and management of the audit process for all entities
• Preparation of statutory financial statements and narrative
• Quarterly and Annual VAT return preparation and submission
• Filing of tax returns
• Supervision of pension filings
• Preparation of monthly financial accounting and group consolidation for all entities
• Ownership of balance sheet accounts and completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Responsible for accurate posting of monthly payrolls
• Ownership of the financial controls for transactions and accounting
• Regular updating of financial controls documentation with stakeholders
• Monthly management accounts preparation and reporting
• Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for the same budget holders
• Ownership of the finance system and chart of accounts
• Act as superuser and provide training to new finance system users
• Plan and manage the delivery of regular system updates
• Line management of two team members

What you will need to be great for this role:
• Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/ACMA)
• Have experience of leading a small finance team and providing commercial support to senior management
• Demonstrate strong Excel skills and, ideally, experience of using Sage and/or Microsoft Business Dynamics

This role sits within IR35.
