A well-established, full service, Top 100 law firm with a National presence is seeking to looking for an established Senior Trust Manager to lead the Trust team.

With a heritage stretching over a hundred years, our client is a prestigious firm with an enviable client base. This rare opportunity offers true development prospects to Director level.

Although this is a role within a legal firm - someone with a Trust management background outside of the legal sector will also be highly applicable.

The Opportunity

The Senior Trust Manager will manage a small team of Trust Assistants and work in close collaborations with our client's Private Client Solicitors. With a focus upon providing succession advice to families across generations - this will be an opportunity demonstrate a working knowledge of trusts with both UK and international elements.

The role can be based in London, Bristol or Exeter.

Main Duties

In this role you will be preparing and reviewing trust tax returns, preparing trust accounts and CGT computations as well as overseeing the day-to-day trust administration. With support from two Assistants, you will be responsible for approximately 170 trusts.

What's needed to be considered?

The successful applicant will possess strong trust tax and trust account experience, as well as practical experience of personal tax. Previous involvement in trust accounts preparation is essential and the ability to deal with personal tax returns and estate returns will be an advantage.

You will have previous experience of using tax return software, strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills and, ideally, experience of computerised accounts packages.

You will also be managing junior staff within the team and so previous management experience would also be an advantage.

Experience Required

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years Trust, Tax and Accounts experience. Ideally you will also be ACA, ACCA, ATT/CIOT or STEP qualified.
