Senior Financial Accountant/Finance Manager - Tech - Immediate Start

My client is a rapidly growing PE backed technology company who are growing their UK office. They are looking for a Finance Manager to join on an initial 3 months basis. Previous experience within a PE backed business is vital. The person should be used to private equity, have decent tech accounting knowledge, willing to really get stuck into the detail and good Excel skills. Also there may be a little travel involved. The role is likely to go perm.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of monthly management reports and analysis including Planning Budgeting Forecasting, Business Unit Reporting, Commercial Assessments and operational reports, ensuring reconciliation and accurate variance analysis
  • Manage data quality and integrity of monthly management reports including Planning Budgeting Forecasting
  • Ensure applicable management accounting documentation and supporting procedures exist and are up to date
  • Contribute to financial transactions and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results to ensure compliance with approved accounting standards
  • Identify and analyse any material exceptions to forecast and plan against actuals, and prepare corresponding commentary
  • Preparation of external reporting to ensure consistency, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting to achieve regulatory and business outcomes
  • Support data quality and integrity of output for monthly financial statements and reports
  • Ensure applicable financial accounting documentation and supporting procedures exist and are up to date
  • Drive and ensure compliance to Financial Accounting and Reporting policies, procedures and contractual commitments under financing and proactively identify and raise non-compliant issues with the indirect report
  • Ensure applicable Financial Accounting and Reporting documentation and supporting procedures exist and are up to date
  • Work together with the external accounting provider to support the business

Skills required:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA ideally)
  • Previous experience with Xero & Afas
  • Strong excel skills
  • Previously worked in a PE backed SME
  • Tech sector experience, e.g. software and/or managed services, SaaS
  • A well organised individual and good at prioritising
  • Good at communicating and working remotely
  • Willing to travel a bit (London, Holland)

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end Marketing, cash and balance sheets
  • Deliver financial information and support to the business through insightful management reporting. Track performance against plan and identify and follow up risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare financials for Board presentations & other papers.
  • Seek and implement reporting efficiencies and improvements to meet the needs of the team
  • Drive the agenda in the team of understanding the business and staying close to changes
  • Ensure accounts comply with appropriate accounting standards and oversee any audit processes
  • Lead on financial modelling and analysis
  • Manage the forecasting and annual budgeting process

About You:
  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experience within a Media/Marketing/Tech Organisation
  • Excellent financial analysis and modelling skills (Advanced Excel skills)
  • Management reporting, budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Comfortable working in a highly results-focused, complex organisation
  • Strong analytical skills
