Dedicate Recruitment is working in partnership with this small Trust, in east London, which is now seeking a highly motivated individual who is keen to develop their finance career within the education sector. The Finance Manager role is a crucial link between the trust's day-to-day financial management and the executive leaders and Board of Trustees and will lead, manage and maintain key financial processes including:
- Oversight of the Trust's finance systems and processes.
- Responsibility for the production of timely and accurate management accounts.
- Timely internal and external financial reporting and statutory returns.
- Supporting the Chief Finance Officer to set and monitor the Trust's budget and determine finance strategy.
You will be a confident and competent self-starter, enthusiastic about developing your skills and those of others within the team and taking on new responsibilities as the Trust grows. You will be qualified or part qualified (e.g. CIPFA, AAT, ACCA, CIMA), have experience of using and developing financial software, ideally PS Financials, and will be effective with developing and managing financial control processes and undertaking reconciliation tasks and analysis.
The post holder must possess a strong understanding of accounting processes and standards as set out in the Charities SORP and be able to interpret and analyse complex data to identify trends and anticipate concerns.
The successful applicant will be an excellent verbal and written communicator, able to problem solve and work effectively with all peers within the trust and its schools. You will lead a small team, and provide clear technical advice to people at all levels and be able to constructively challenge senior staff if necessary.
This role, in collaboration with the central team, will contribute to the maintenance of a caring and stimulating environment for its children.
