£68 -80 per day
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required are GCSE's in English and Maths with experience of working with young people with SEMH.
Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a secondary school within a coastal area of East Riding of Yorkshire. This role will commence in January 2022 and be ongoing until at least July 2022. Although this will initially be a long term supply role through Vision for Education, the Head Teacher has indicated that permanent role may be offered to the successful candidate.
Working within a skilled an experienced SEND team, the successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will support the class teacher in delivering 1:1 support to young people that are struggling to adapt to mainstream classes. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the pupils and helping them to develop socially and academically.
Our client secondary academy, is based in a large East Riding coastal town. Although public transport links are reasonable, many candidates may need to use a car to arrive at the school before 8.30am. This is an OFSTED good school that benefits from strong leadership. The SEND team at this academy play a vital role in the academies highly inclusive culture.
To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:
Hold minimum GCSE qualifications in English & Maths - a Level 2 childcare qualification is desirable but not essential.
Have experience of working with young people with SEMH
A desire to make a difference in the lives of young people with SEMH that may be struggling in the educational system
Be firm, outgoing, empathetic and personable.
