Location: Birmingham (UK) (Site based position)

This exciting position will oversee the Production process in the CHEP Birmingham service centre. The Production Manager will ensure the continuation of our 'Zero Harm' approach and employees are empowered, engaged and developed. The Production Manager will best utilize our colleagues and equipment to maximise product availability and ensure customer quality standards are met.

Key Accountabilities

* Ensure Zero Harm at all times and production colleagues are fully trained within occupational health and safety guidelines

* Review team performance, identify actions and training needs

* Drive the engagement and enablement for the production team to delivery year on year engagement score increases and create a high performing, supported team

* Monitor productivity rates and product quality standards

* Achieve production targets

* Support high levels of customer service through complaint investigation and where necessary customer assurance visits

* Design and implementation of change based on data and root cause analysis

* Monitor and report continuous improvement metrics including: plant efficiency, process reliability, near misses, product compliance and sustainability

Qualifications

* A degree in Engineering or in place time served apprenticeship/ equivalent technical discipline

* Lean Six Sigma at Green Belt would be preferred or an awareness of CI tools and techniques

* NEBOSH/ IOSH

Skills and Experience

* Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on people leadership and continuous improvement

* A background in a quality focused environment with recognized quality standards

* Ability to work in a matrix environment

* A flexible, proactive and persistent approach

* Able to empower and coach people at all levels

* Change management skills

* Experience managing budgets/ CAPEX projects
