Coating Line Operator / PERMANENT / Wolverhampton / £11.88 / £14.36 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced candidate to join a large steel processing company based in Wolverhampton.

You will be responsible for running the coating line. Training will be provided to candidates with good levels of experience with the steel industry, and you will also be tasked with manoeuvring steel around the workplace and loading / unloading machinery.

To be considered for this role you MUST have worked considerably within the steel industry. You DO NOT need in-date licences, just the experience is enough.

You will be responsible for, and your duties will include;
  • Running the coating line
  • Operating overhead cranes and counterbalance forklift trucks
  • Handling steel coil and processed steel
  • Helping to load and unload machinery
  • Banding up on the back-end

You will be working a unique shift pattern, covering either two 12 hour days and one 12 hour night shift each week or two 12 hour nights and one 12 hour day, totalling 36 hours per week. For example;

Thursday & Friday - 6:00am - 6:00pm (DAYS) / Sunday - 6:00pm - 6:00am (NIGHT)

Friday - 6:00am - 6:00pm (DAY) / Sunday & Monday - 6:00pm - 6:00am (NIGHTS)

The starting rate of pay for this role will be £11.88 on days and £14.36 on nights.

To be clear, this isn't a rotating shift pattern, you will be doing one of the above shift patterns every week.
