M&A Manager - The Role:

Support the Group Head of Strategic Development with all aspects of M&A and play a key role in driving Trust Payment's overall strategic growth. Oversee our acquisition processes including deal origination, managing due diligence and leading closing procedures.

You will work closely with both external stakeholders and internal business partners to originate and structure deals and support investment recommendations. Given the importance of acquisitions, the role involves significant exposure to senior leadership, company decision making and Board level strategy.

M&A Manager - Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Group Head of Strategic Development in acquisitions and strategic decision making to impact the future growth and positioning of Trust Payments

- Contribute to deal origination based on commercial, financial and strategic merit, and actively manage the M&A pipeline

- Work with other project team members in the UK, US and EU to create accountability and drive projects and initiatives to completion

- Work closely with external advisors and internal finance teams to develop financial models and to evaluate, challenge, and stress-test these models with robust scenarios and sensitivities

- Liaise with internal product, technical and commercial teams, and with external advisors to lead and conduct financial, commercial, operational, legal and tax due diligence on transactions

- Develop and maintain a strategic relationship management system and support relationship development with corporates, founder/entrepreneurs, PE funds, advisors and consultants

- Perform financial analysis of peer companies and precedent transactions within Trust's strategic focus areas

- Prepare investment recommendation cases for executive management approvals and ultimately approval by Trust's Board of Directors

- Work closely with our project management office to create an initial plan for post-acquisition integration

M&A Manager - You:

- Experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, consulting, or transaction services

Relevant transactional M&A experience in either principal investing or advisory (preferably in financial services, software or fintech sectors)

- Experience conducting due diligence

- Experience analysing businesses for strategic and commercial fit

- Experience in evaluating product/service propositions (ideally in payments, ecommerce or other fintech industries)

- Experience working in a high growth, fast-paced, dynamic environment

- Ability to effectively interact with senior executives and third-party advisors

- Ability to process information and reframe into clear ideas and actions

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word

- Strong verbal and written communications skills

- Possession of an entrepreneurial, self-starter attitude and comfort working in a small, dynamic team

- Numerate and analytical mindset; ability to use a quantitative and data driven approach to define, shape and put context around strategic options

- Commercial intuition; ability to see beyond the raw data to the "so what" implications for the business and understand what drives strategic + financial value

- Creative; ability to see beyond the reasons not to do something to find innovative solutions to make things happen

- Strong organisation skills and ability to multi-task, set priorities and deliver

- Highly responsive with ability to work to tight deadlines given the dynamics of M&A

- Team player that can work effectively across the organisation

- An interest in and passion for fintech
