About this client/child:

Jude is an outgoing, energetic, and charming soon-to-be 7-year-old with a great sense of humour! A real academic with a love for maths, playing chess, listening to music, dancing, and rock climbing! Jude is a Year 2 pupil in a mainstream private school setting, he is a highly intelligent and extremely capable young man who enjoys learning. He has recently received an ADHD diagnosis and is currently being assessed for ASC, therefore we are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching / Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for Jude throughout the school day and be the bridge between his family and the school.

Overview of role:

The role of the SEN Teaching / Learning Support Assistant is to facilitate Jude's learning and education, enable him to access the full curriculum, and participate in the full school experience, including socialising with his peers and attending extra-curricular activities. This role requires an experienced SEN TA that can bring strategies and techniques to support Jude if he is feeling overwhelmed or finding it difficult to concentrate on the task at hand, being able to preempt triggers and de-escalate situations. The SEN TA will be firm but fair and be able to stick to clear boundaries, which are a very important aspect of the role as this is when Jude feels most confident, secure, and settled.

It is essential that you are an excellent communicator, to ensure Jude's family are kept up to date, daily. Two days per week Jude attends extra-curricular activities until 5.00 pm, however, the other days he finishes at 3.35 pm, the additional hours on these days will be used towards prep for the day/week ahead.

Who this job would suit:

An experienced, proactive, and professional SEN Teaching / Learning Support Assistant, that has previously worked in a school environment supporting a pupil with ADHD and ASC to access the full school curriculum.

What's great about this job:

This is an extremely rewarding position which is offering very competitive rates. You will become an integral part of Jude's team and really have a positive influence on his school life.
