Finance Business Partner, Rapidly Growing Tech Co, Up to £70k

The Company:

The client we are working with is a rapidly growing fintech company. They combine technology, process, and domain expertise to deliver a world-class finance function that supports companies from funding to growth to exit.

About the Client CFO role

Our team and client base are growing! We are looking for an ambitious senior finance professional to work with a portfolio of clients, operating as their trusted advisor. With day-to-day responsibility for your clients, you will work with our accounting team and utilise the platform to provide our service offering. This will include transaction support, such as fund raisings and exits, as well as the provision of monthly management information and financial planning.

You are likely to be currently working within a Corporate Finance Team, looking to broaden your involvement with your clients and take a more active role in assisting with their development. You will have the skills to support clients through all stages of their development.

You can work remotely from a home-based office but ideally will be happy to travel for client visits and to the Cheltenham office.

Role responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day relationship across your portfolio of clients and provision of our services to them. Our services include:

Transaction Support

Financial Planning & Analysis, including Financial Modelling

Operational Finance, including management reporting and maintenance of accounting records

In respect of Operational Finance, you will be the clients key finance resource and have responsibility for:

Review of the month end accounts' and other deliverables produced by our Accounting Operations team and:

Ensure that they meet the company's quality requirements - accuracy, insights & timeliness. This will involve, for example, a high-level review of the close process undertaken, KPIs, significant / unusual transactions in the month and all client facing outputs

Production of appropriate commentary with clear presentation of all client-facing outputs to the CFO and in turn the client

Agreeing and implementing appropriate policies and delegations with your clients

All other monthly finance-team activities, such as agreement of proposed payment lists, monitoring of cash collection, responding to ad-hoc queries etc.

Management of all statutory reporting requirements (other than corporate / income tax) including the production of annual financial statements and supporting audit requirements

Primary contact point for the provision of all other services to the client. This will involve taking instructions from the client, engagement of internal resources to meet the client's requirements, input into and review of the deliverables and management of the project to its completion.

For Transaction Support Services this will include production of appropriate investor materials, including presentations, population of data rooms, advice on documentation etc.

For Financial Modelling activities, agreement and review of model inputs, working with our FP&A team in the production of the model, review of model outputs and presentation to the client. This activity is often performed as part of Transaction Support Services

For FP&A projects, defining with the client the scope of the project, deliverables and timetable, working with our FP&A team in their fulfilment

Co-ordination with the Client Engagement CFO on all aspects of the service provided to your portfolio of clients, which includes the escalation of matters as appropriate

Working with our CFO team on new client proposals, including the preparation of materials, performing client compliance procedures and co-ordination of on-boarding

Key skills & experience

Qualified accountant with at least 7 years post qualification experience, ideally within or serving technology or technology related businesses

Ideally, previous experience of working with a portfolio of clients in a Corporate Finance environment

Intellectually strong, with a problem solving, curious approach

Strong, robust personality, capable of responding thoughtfully when challenged

Agility and pace together with an ability to work and make decisions in an ambiguous, changing environment

Adept at presenting complex ideas and solutions simply to non-financial audiences

Attention to detail with strong analytical skills

Strong Microsoft Office skills

Desire to work in a fast-paced, start up environment
