Practice Accountant (Self-employed)

Our client is a small firm of Chartered Accountants based in the centre of Glasgow. They are currently looking to acquire the services of a self-employed practice accountant who they can sub-contract work to on a part-time basis. It is envisaged this will be in the region of 15-25 hours per week at a rate of £30 per her (gross).

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and private limited companies, including all necessary accounting journals and adjustments
• Double entry bookkeeping
• Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns to HMRC
• Preparation of personal and corporation tax comps and returns
• Performing reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts
• Use of accounting software including, Xero, Sage, Free Agent and QuickBooks
• Communication with clients
• Assisting the Partner with ad hoc projects

You will be an accomplished Accountant (qualified or QBE) with recent experience working in practice in a general practice capacity. This role will likely suit a self-employed practice accountant looking for additional work or an employed accountant looking to become self-employed. You will have the ability to come into the firms' Glasgow office 1-2 days per week.
