Role: Operational Excellence Manager

Location: Remote

IR35: Inside

Rate: up to £500/day (Umbrella)

Duration: Until 31st March 2022 initially

You will be responsible for developing and leading a programme of improvement activity in the specific operational area to which you are assigned. It is vital that all improvement activity is managed in the wider programme context to ensure optimum results. You will work with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels in the organisation driving the delivery of programme wide improvements whilst supporting targeted functional improvement projects.

There will be a need to work with a wide range of stakeholders as well as key personnel within the third party logistics service providers.

Key Responsibilities

Critically these projects will form part of a broad spectrum of improvement activity, some specifically focused on Supply and Logistics activities as well as programme wide initiatives.
Develop Project Plans for all activity, manage the plan effectively through project gateways to ensure key stakeholders remain engaged and results are delivered to expectation.
Facilitate the introduction of new processes as a result of any project work undertaken and to monitor progress of the results
Prioritisation and delegation of tasks and identification of countermeasures for all off target items to ensure the successful delivery of the projects and achievement of objectives to time and cost
Develop and deliver quality reports/feedback presentations to senior stakeholders at agreed frequencies and complete case studies for all work
Contribute to the development of the business to deliver effective results and sustainable transformation
Support the development of an appropriate CI training and development programme
Consistently apply Lean principles
Essential Criteria:

5 years continuous improvement experience in the application of continuous improvement across a wide range of disciplines
5 Years' experience in distribution, logistics or manufacturing
Strong communicator and with tested influencing skills
Self-starter, able to work on own initiative always with the bigger picture in mind
Strong stakeholder management and networking skills
Experience of data collection and analysis techniques
Proficient using Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Project, Visio and PowerPoint.
Ability to juggle multiple projects, last minute requests and quick turnarounds with a positive attitude, by adapting strategy and approach based on priorities
Energy and enthusiasm to raise the profile of CI throughout the organisation
Demonstrated ability to deliver projects within scope, cost and quality
Six Sigma (ideally black belt)
