Production Technician (E&I) - CCGT Power Station

We are looking for a Electrical / Instrumentation biased Production Technician (Operations with Maintenance skillset) to join the Production Department of one of the UK's most efficient CCGT Power Station's, located in Devon. This station has a generating capacity of 885MW comprised of two Gas Turbines (Alstom GT26) and one Steam Turbine in a multi-shaft configuration.

Under a new owner, this plant is part of a fleet produced 22GW of Heat & Power across Europe and has a number of assets in the United Kingdom.

Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Production Team Leader, as an Production Technician, you will be responsible for:

Operating the plant in a safe & efficient manner and working in tandem with the other disciplined technicians to ensure maximum plant availability.
Carrying out both inside (Control room) and outside duties, carrying out inspections, adjustments and maintenance work.
Carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, overhauls, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all a variety of assets to ensure efficient operation of the site and to maximise plant availability. This may include instrumentation, motors, drives, valves, pumps, gearboxes, rotating equipment, boilers and pressure vessels.
Assisting in plant shutdowns and outages
Providing technical input into plant projects and plant improvement programmes
Preparing RAMS (Risk Assessments, Method Statements), adhering to safe systems of work and ensuring all work is logged in the sites CMMS
Ensure consumables and spares are appropriately stocked
Supervising and directing contractors
Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company health and safety policies and procedures
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

A relevant technical qualification such as an HNC/ONC in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
At least three years' experience, post apprenticeship, in a heavy process environment/sector (e.g. power station, chemical plant, paper mill, refinery, steel works etc).
Experience with large industrial engineering plant such as boilers, rotating plant, pumps, instrumentation (flow, pressure, switch, sensors etc)
Ideally an IOSH or NEBOSH or Health & Safety Qualification
