The Norton Motorcycle Co. Ltd is looking for an experienced Continuous Improvement manager to develop and deliver our Continuous Improvement strategy, and manage our waste reduction activities.

Entering a new era, we are scaling globally and this role will give successful recruits the opportunity to be a part of that growth. This role will be based in our state-of-the-art facilities in Solihull, West Midlands, working within our tight-knit but ever-expanding team.

Job Overview

The Norton Motorcycles Co. Ltd Quality department is looking for an experienced manager to lead a new branch of the new model and supplier Quality team. This role will involve recruiting and developing the Supplier Quality team from a pool of internal and external applicants. The scope of work is currently very broad within the department so this is the 1st step towards specialised roles to work on new projects, specifically the approval of parts and proactive control within the supply base.


Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Act as a coach & consultant for the team during supplier interactions and get directly involved where needed

• Work with the procurement team to ensure compatibility of internal processes and clarity of data

• Support the team with part approval processes for parts on new projects, ensuring that pre-production builds have the right part, to the right Quality and at the right time

• Represent the team in concern reviews and ensure that targets are set and met as appropriate

• Manage the team to ensure Quality issues relating to supplier non-conformance are rectified robustly and in line with Norton's production requirements

• Support the supplier development team where needed to proactively and reactively assure supplier compatibility and capability

• Ensure that quality standards for new models are correct and in place in line with the current vehicle Quality team's inspection requirements

• Take ownership of Norton's bespoke part approval process and refine it in line with continuous improvement/lessons learned

• Manage the Quality lessons learned library to ensure proactive Quality considerations are made for future projects

• Work with engineering to ensure drawings are feasible and understood by suppliers


• • Supplier sourcing management and part approval is essential

• • Automotive experience is preferable

• • Experienced in problem solving techniques

• • Self-sufficient and good organisational skills

• Leadership experience is preferable

A driving licence is required

The role will require international travel
