Play Action International's Uganda Volunteer Project is an ethical, award winning international volunteer project that takes a team of 20 volunteers to East Africa, in the city of Jinja, Uganda in the summer to help transform an empty field into a fun, safe and exciting playground that will benefit thousands of children and give them access to a childhood.
You will spend two or four weeks in Uganda, helping our Ugandan build team with the construction of the playground by carrying out unskilled labour tasks such as digging holes, mixing cement, sanding and painting.
In the afternoons, you will also get to support our creative play sessions in the classroom. Giving children an opportunity to take part in arts & crafts, games and other play-based sessions that stimulate and engage children to learn through the language they know best - PLAY!
The highlight of your trip will be once your playground that you've poured your heart and soul into creating can be officially revealed! This will be the moment that will shape your life forever as you see the smiles, hear the laughter and feel the joy that a playground will bring not only to these children on this day, but for generations of children to come.
With over a decade of experience, and with ethics, sustainability, fun and adventure at the heart of our volunteering programmes, Play Action International is the perfect option for your volunteering adventure! We pride ourselves on providing a sustainable in-country programme that meets the needs of the community and is led by local communities. We have everything sorted, from cultural training to ensure you are responsible and respectful in country, to making the most of your experience to gain future employment. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will not only benefit thousands of disadvantaged children, but also you!
