What you will be working on:At RVU, our Reliability Engineering team builds integrated solutions to enable our Product teams to operate their services efficiently and reliably. We embrace the core principles of SRE, working alongside all our teams to automate away toil and build scalable solutions to operational challenges.

Our Cloud Infrastructure team provides a shared Kubernetes platform on which our product teams build, deploy and run their services. The product teams own, operate and support these services to provide the excellent service our customers are accustomed to.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure our product teams have the space and time to innovate while ensuring that our sites are delivering the service levels our customers expect and we are proud to deliver.

Day to day tasksSome of the things you will be working on day to day include:
  • Building tooling or shared services for the product teams
  • Working alongside product teams to establish SLOs for services
  • Assisting product teams with design decisions that may impact reliability
  • Pairing with a product team to debug a potential issue
RequirementsWe are not expecting people to be experts in all of these areas, but we are interested in people who:
  • Can code. Modern ops requires automation to be at the forefront of our practices.
  • Care about both the reliability and operation of systems as well as how we scale ops.
  • Can use: Go, Python and Terraform on Kubernetes, AWS and GCP monitored with Prometheus, Grafana and Sentry
  • Want to grow within their career and are looking for a place that lets them have immediate, meaningful impact - we deploy up to 150 times a day
  • Are passionate about performance and data
  • Like to design and assess systems
  • Want to work in conjunction with engineering teams to develop and refine our strategy, helping understand what our platform should look like and how we service it responsibly
