Workforce Manager - Artificial Intelligence

Active Security Clearance in required
Contract - Outside IR35 - £650
This client has recognised the need to advance ability to adopt critical and game-changing technology, enabling autonomous systems through the use of artificial intelligence.

It proposed to do this by establishing an AI experimentation hub which will provide the Science and Technology contribution to the client. The hub will establish mechanisms to partner with industry and academia to overcome key challenges, develop common core technologies to make the next generations more capable, and enable a perpetual ability to adopt the next-generation of AI-enabled and autonomous capabilities at near-development speed.

Support to Data Exploitation work package

The Data Exploitation work package aims to improve the client's ability to adopt the next generation of AI through a 'data informed' workforce. The supplier is required to deliver a strategy/plan on how to develop and operationalise data capability such that it enables them to develop AI applications.

This work is expected to link to, and learn from, existing activities already been undertaken, both internally and externally across overseas partner government organisations, industry and academia.

It will develop an understanding of how successful they have been, any challenges they faced and the applicability to the workforce. The task will involve undertaking a review of work describing future data capabilities to establish risks and opportunities (with the main focus on AI) and suggest appropriate responses they should undertake to develop the workforce.

The work will require innovation, identification of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the specification of supporting research packages. The following activities are expected to be included within scope; however, the work will be conducted under an agile project framework and the content of the task is expected to evolve over the course of the contract.

Key aspects include:

Future Workforce Requirements - A discovery activity to understand the future data landscape and its associated challenges for the workforce in the option of key technologies, particularly AI. This discovery can consider the future shape of the client's organisation, its objectives, and the contributions of data towards those objectives.

This understanding will be used to estimate the future requirements for workforce development, in terms of Knowledge, Skills, Experience and other attributes, and form part of the overall workforce development study.

Options for Future for Workforce Development - An analysis of the available approaches and best practice for 'data' workforce development. This includes approaches to increase awareness of data (e.g. customer community), ensuring application of best practice (e.g. working with Datasets, metadata, labelling tooling) development frameworks for training, education, and professional development and methods to attract/retain/motivate staff.
