An experienced SEN teacher who specialises in teaching science is required for a permanent position as soon as possible for a specialist independent school & registered charity.

The role is based in Nottingham city and caters for students who have been excluded from mainstream education aged 11-16. This schools offers a last chance to students to make positive life choices and obtain qualifications to go on to be successful later in life.

The role will involve leading on your subject specialism and teaching the sciences to lower GCSE level and supporting low aspiration students to gain qualifications that they otherwise may not achieve. You will need to have a passion for working with hard to reach students, be able to build excellent rapport with those you work with and be resilient to combat the challenges of working with students who may experience numerous barriers to education.

Requirements for the roles:

Must have recent relevant teaching experience in Science - whether mainstream or SEN
Have experience working with students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health difficulties.
Be able to provide employment references that speak to your high standards of teaching
Be a resilient teacher who can instil clear boundaries whilst also showing empathy and compassion
