Just Helping is an established Charity looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to join its friendly team. As our charity continues to develop rapidly, we are looking for an enthusiastic and competent Operations Manager to ensure our Charity operations run smoothly and effectively and who can support the Board of Trustees.

One of our main activities is a national Charity Christmas tree recycling campaign, this year we raised over £860k for Hospices and local charities. Our ambition does not end there, and we have some other exciting projects in the pipeline.

Key responsibilities:

Organisation and Strategy - As the line manager of the Development and Administration Team you will work closely with them, monitoring their actions and performance against objectives and ensuring that they meet their full potential. You will also be involved in the recruitment of additional JustHelping Collection Managers and Volunteers

Marketing - Managing our social media presence and marketing campaigns including working with designers, printers, external marketing companies to expand our coverage and advertise the great work we do!

Finance - Supporting the Finance Trustee with bookkeeping, Gift Aid applications and the ability to manipulate data to generate finance reports and / or track various KPI's

Partner Liaison - You will be responsible for maintaining the strong relationships built with hospices and other partners, ensuring that they receive the support and training they need in order to operate their Christmas tree collections successfully. This would include development of national corporate agreements with suppliers to support the collections.

IT - You will work closely with the IT Trustee to ensure that our website and databases are working as they should be and have input into ongoing development and enhancements.

Event Management - to ensure the smooth operation of the annual Christmas Tree collection together with defining a strategy to run other future events with the New Event Trustee

Legislation - Manage and maintain the H&S and risk assessment documentation and work within the current GDPR legislations

Skills & Experience:
  • Strong organisational and communication skills and be capable of multitasking
  • Professional, personable, practical, reliable and unflappable
  • Be able to evidence excellent project, planning and time management capabilities
  • Bookkeeping knowledge and familiarity of a cloud-based accounting software such as Xero
  • Confident in IT systems (as the charity is heavily supported by them) as well as experience in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and MailChimp (or similar)
  • Fluent English essential both written and verbal
  • Experience of working within the Charity sector would be beneficial but not essential

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Full time £30,000 - £38,000 (Based on experience). Hours flexible and negotiable.

Schedule: Monday to Friday. Some weekend / overtime will be required during the busy collection period. (Note: At peak periods i.e. during the Christmas period you will be required to work longer hours, any hours worked will be used as leave in the quieter periods.

Work remotely: Yes. Office-based in the Greater Manchester area but with flexibility to work some time at home
