RotheramCarrington Recruitment Group are exclusively working with a very well established professional services organisation based in the Chester, Cheshire area. Our Client is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee their operational functions within the finance team. This role sits within financial control and will work cross-functionally with multiple areas of the wider business. Stakeholder management is a key element to this role as you will be liaising at all levels with finance & non-finance Heads of Departments, Managers, Senior Directors. This is a great opportunity for an individual that has a desire to drive efficiencies throughout, run multiple projects simultaneously and manage the day to day running on the financial control team.

Job Title

Finance Manager - Operations

Operational Line Management - AR, AP, Reconciliations, Payroll, Costs

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Responsible for the division's revenue streams across costs, revenues and the general ledger functions
  • Production and review of the month end process including full P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Managing a team of several direct reports at varying levels
  • Providing monthly management information and analysis to key senior stakeholders across the divisions (analysis of revenue and costs against budgets & forecasts)
  • Pro-actively engaging with non-finance senior stakeholders to ensure they are managing their costs effectively
  • Creation and analysis of annual cost budgets
  • Updating and maintaining the fixed asset register under IFRS16 regulations
  • Completion of year end statutory accounts, liaising with internal and external auditors
  • Oversee payroll process and sign off, working with the payroll team to guide and implement efficiencies, self-sufficient team
  • Adhere to professional accounting standards and policies supporting audit to minimise risk or fraud
  • Continuous process improvement, ensuring a robust control framework across operational finance, identifying and highlighting areas of risk
  • Ad hoc financial projects and analysis as directed by the Head of Financial Control such as future M&A activities, change and system developments, tracking of data across cost base

Skills/Experience
  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified - Essential
  • Previous background within a regulated environment such as financial services, insurance, business services - Advantageous
  • Staff management experience (monthly reviews, performance reviews as required)
  • Understanding of payroll legislation advantageous
  • Highly proficient Excel user (pivot & look up tables, modelling financial data)
  • Previous experience using ERP system
  • Ability to thrive within a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills is a key element in this role as you will be liaising across multiply functions at all levels including senior stakeholders
  • A desire to continuously drive improvements around financial control and system process

Salary/Benefits
  • £50,000 to £55,000 per annum (plus 10% discretionary bonus based on personal & company performance)
