Apointe are woking with an exciting company operating in the renewable energy space, you will be reporting to the Group FC, adopting a hybrid working style, as the FInance Business Partner you will be responsible for finance support provided to the division in order to ensure that divisional leads receive the service expected from finance, to include:
  • Accurate financial reporting
  • High quality financial information to be used for decision making
  • Safeguards and suitable levels of challenge to maximise financial performance
  • Appropriate working capital management to ensure sufficient resources

Key Accountabilities:
  • Acting as first point of contact for the divisional leads on all finance matters
  • Building relationships of trust with the divisional leads
  • Enabling the divisions in fully understanding financial results and actions required to deliver budgeted financial performance
  • Acting as a point of escalation to deal with issues or queries from suppliers, customers or partners of the division
  • Ensuring that the division is adequately supported by accounts payable and accounts receivable processes run by central finance
  • Staying informed about developments in the division and the environment in which it operates
  • Modelling the Anesco values within finance and with the division
  • Taking responsibility for financial controls which mitigate risks faced by the division
  • Identifying and implementing solutions to problems experienced by the division

Bringing numbers to life:
  • Leading the preparation of monthly management accounts for the division (to include the financial results, analysis and commentary provided in the Board Pack and any additional deliverables agreed with the division) to be provided in line with mandated timelines
  • Providing guidance and challenge to the division to ensure that we remain compliant with all legal and regulatory responsibilities
  • Monitoring the divisional working capital levels and working to reduce working capital cycle within the division.
  • Monitoring the divisional cashflows against budget and taking appropriate action to remediate any shortfalls

Turning data into insights:
  • Understanding the key issues, challenges and opportunities for the division
  • Providing information to the division for decision support
  • Providing financial insight to commercial engagements (i.e. pricing / contracts / tenders)
  • Supporting the division with navigating finance processes (to include facilitating training where necessary)
  • Addressing divisional issues with finance processes
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Owning the balance sheet reconciliations for the division
  • Attending divisional meetings to provide input and gather information
  • Using data analytics to provide insights to the FP&A Manager to assist in the forecasting and budgeting processes.

Supporting the broader finance team:
  • Providing support to the broader finance team (to include supporting the development of junior team members)
  • Working with the division to build budgets and forecasts and support to the FP&A Manager to deliver the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle for the division

Desired Knowledge & Experience:
  • Robust understanding of financial accounting and financial processing
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering on the accountabilities listed
  • Previous experience of effective communication in a corporate environment
  • Knowledge of how accounting systems work and experience with MS Office tools
  • Experience of working in a team and across functions
  • Qualified Accountant - ACCA, ACA or CIMA
