In March 2018, we opened our new School of Medicine to sit alongside our health sciences, pharmacy and nursing programmes. With a track-record of excellence in medical education spanning 100 years, the University is now well-placed to address the chronic shortage of doctors in the North East. We are also leading providers of teacher education and have a thriving business school which attracts international students from across the world. Our highly ranked arts and creative industries faculty has just opened a suite of new media and photography studios. Our Faculty of Technology specialises in robotics, cyber security and advanced manufacturing.
We now seek a new Head of Development and Alumni to provide strategic leadership and hold overall responsibility for all elements of the Alumni and Development function. You will manage key relationships with the Development Trust and work closely with the Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice-Chancellor External Relations on fundraising and stakeholder management.
As well as driving income for important capitol campaign project and bursaries, you will also support vital alumni engagement from across the world and from a variety of routes and backgrounds to deepen their relationship with the university. The Development and Alumni team consists of six dedicated and passionate individuals, and you will ensure that under your leadership, they will continue to thrive and develop.
You will come with significant experience in fundraising, with demonstrable experience of leadership and management of teams. You will have experience of developing high profile fundraising strategies and of soliciting charitable gifts from a wide range of sources. High level prospect identification and development will be key, as will previous experience of complex data analysis and interpretation. Importantly you will be able to embody the University's vision, values and supporting strategies, and come with exceptional communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage effectively and positively across a range of stakeholders.
