This role is accountable for driving performance across the National Trust websites. You will lead, develop and guide a skilled team of digital content editors to plan and deploy content that achieves our organisational goals. You will be commercially driven, with strong experience of working in trading environments and a track record of driving online acquisition and engagement.What you'll be doing
You'll be the organisation's go-to specialist for all things involving natural search. Your expertise will direct and support digital content (on-site), PR & Social (off-site) and digital products (technical) on best practice SEO, guided by what you see in real users' behaviour. You'll manage our SEO agency to ensure we get the best insights into user behaviour and maximise performance towards our goals and KPIs. This will be particularly critical as our new CMS comes online. You'll handle the day-to-day management of our small web team as together you build landing pages, train colleagues and ensure standards are set and maintained as you collaborate with a wide range of colleagues to shape, edit and publish user-friendly and brand-aligned content. You'll make sure our web content is created to high editorial standards and optimised to help drive online engagement and customer and supporter acquisition across several business areas. You will be comfortable operating in a daily, weekly and monthly trading approach, working collaboratively with online and offline media teams to drive performance.Who we're looking for
- You'll be the organisation's senior lead for SEO and web content management, providing advice, guidance and counsel to senior leaders and operators across the National Trust.
- Your experience, strong qualifications and specialist knowledge of onsite, offsite and technical SEO tactics as well as the Trust's organisational strategy mean you'll be able to direct, lead and take responsibility for the natural search performance (the lion's share of traffic) on the National Trust's national web platforms.
- You'll build a strong understanding of the integrated nature of the organisation and be able to work confidently across all levels of stakeholders for mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Your digital editorial and content management skills and outstanding communication skills will play a key part in enabling and managing the day-to-day work of the national web team, working closely day-to-day with the editor.
