The Third-Party Lifecycle Management (TLM) Team is looking for high performing colleagues to join us in the role of Compliance Analyst.

At American Express, Third-Party Risk Management is critical to organisational success as our teams of experts reduce our exposure to risk by researching and vetting potential third party relationships. As part of the Third-Party Lifecycle Management program, you will have the opportunity to work with different lines of business globally, learn about third party risk management, risk triggers and requirements of various bank regulations.

Third-Party Risk Management is a rapidly growing sector for companies who recognise outsourcing to acquire positive financial returns to drive higher levels of customer service and optimise flexible scaling of resourcing. At the same time, doing business with third parties carries potential risk to customer privacy, service continuity, and data security. To address these risks, companies must implement Third-Party Risk Management strategies that protect the company, its customers and its shareholders while not becoming a roadblock to organisational progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with our business partners to complete end to end third party risk assessments, including assessing risk and completing due diligence
  • Support the Ongoing Monitoring (post-contract) risk management process completed by TRMs (Third Party Risk and Relationship Managers)
  • Understand American Express third-party risk management approaches, principles, and procedures, and apply these in practice
  • Think broadly about risk management principles and the linkages between different aspects of the program
  • Build and maintain complete and accurate risk records to support the processes and meet audit requirements
  • Analyse sets of information and data and make judgements and decisions based on procedural guidance, including where guidance is unclear
  • Navigate complex tools, technology and processes that support the program
  • Lead risks and issues related to the process and technology, in partnership with leadership and the rest of the team
  • Form relationships, and run challenging customer requirements and expectations

  • Proficient process manager - effectively leads complex processes
  • Consistent track record of leading a diverse range of challenging priorities; assess urgency and understand the need for prioritisation
  • Pro-actively manages risks and issues related to the process and technology, in partnership with the rest of the team
  • Expertise in understanding and use of data
  • Manages work with appropriate sensitivity - diffusing difficult situations before escalation, flagging potential issues in advance, and providing leadership with the required support where escalation is unavoidable
  • Builds relationships based on trust and integrity, sensitively and effectively managing customer requirements and expectations
  • Seeks feedback, responds positively to all feedback received, and applies continuous learning on the job
  • Speaks up, and works collaboratively with the team
