The 2nd Year Leader BA interior Design is responsible for teaching, course development, and on-going scholarship on the expanding BA Interior Design course at Chelsea College of Arts leading the craft of practicing Interior Design in the 21st Century.

This course is part of and shares resources across the Material and Spatial Practices Programme at CCW. The post-holder will work collaboratively within the course and programme team, deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions.

Your profile

Requirements for the role:
  • Undergraduate degree in Interior Design, Communications, or relevant field (Essential)
  • Master's Degree in Design, Communications, or relevant field (Essential)
  • PhD in Design or relevant field (Desirable)
  • Teaching qualification (PG Cert or equivalent) (Desirable)
  • Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (Desirable)
  • Experience of teaching and assessment in a higher education environment (permanent, fractional, or hourly paid contract)
  • Applies an inquiring, innovative and reflexive approach to teaching
  • Considers and promotes equality, diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of teaching and assessment
  • Shows commitment to understanding the range of students' experiences within a course
  • Collaborates and works effectively within a team and across different professional groups
  • Works effectively and respectfully with a wide range of people
  • Evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of Interior design activity and is relevant to the goals of the Programme, College and University
  • Evidence of using contacts within subject peer group to develop partnerships or collaboration
  • Plans, prioritises and manages resources effectively to achieve objectives
