White Ribbon Alliance, on behalf od the Childbirth Choices Matter Campaign, seeks an experienced insurance and legal specialist with specilaist knowledge of the insurance market and legalities for self employed health care professionals to further our vision of enabling choice in childbirth in the UK. Working alongside a newly recruited Fundraising Speciliast this role seeks to enable choice and strengthen the rights of women and birthing people.

Aims of the Childbirth Choices Matter Campaign

To strengthen the rights of women and birthing people to choose the circumstances in which they give birth to their babies
To enable self-employed midwives to be able to provide maternity care that is dignified and eqitable
To ensure that midwifery is a profession that is autonomous and able to support women and birthing people's choices by working independently of the NHS if needed

Specific Aims of the Role

To support White Ribbon Alliance and the Childbirth Choices Matter team in identifying legal opportunities for the creation of a bespoke insurance product for self-employed midwives, doulas and birth workers.

About You

Demonstrable understanding of insurance and the law
Strong network of contacts within the insurance industry in the UK and overseas
Commitment to the ethos of the campaign and to the White Ribbon Alliance charity which seeks to activate change and enable choice for women, girls and families in all their diversity.
Experienced in performing well under pressure, strong attention to detail and ability to drive multiple programme efforts simultaneously
Demonstrable understanding of the legalities of working with guarantors to enable an insurance product
Ability to self-motivate and work within a remote team utilising personal IT resources to undertake work
A strong commitment to upholding our principles and values in relation to inclusion, representation, dignity and justice

About The Contract

£10,000 fixed fee based on a 10-month timeline of deliverables
Contract from January 2022 through to October 2022
Working as part of a team of specialists committed to furthering the objectives of the campaign
Remote working with flexible hours, based on achievement of deliverables rather than set hours
Access to a Communications Lead to support you in co-producing and distributing campaign wide communications.
